ABSTRACT

This study investigates the role of digital platforms in enhancing cultural awareness within music education. Using a mixed-methods design, the research involved both students and teachers who had experience using a digital platform called E-LokalTunes. Data were collected through surveys, interviews, and classroom observations to examine how digital tools influence students’ understanding and appreciation of diverse musical cultures. The findings demonstrate a positive relationship between digital engagement and the development of cultural awareness. Qualitative data further support this, revealing increased curiosity, intercultural understanding, and appreciation for local and global musical traditions among students. The study also identifies challenges, such as varying levels of digital literacy among teachers and limited access to technological resources. Despite these limitations, the study concludes that platforms like E-LokalTunes can serve as effective tools in promoting culturally responsive music education. By integrating pedagogical strategies and strengthening support systems, digital platforms have the potential to transform music learning into a more inclusive and culturally enriched experience
