ABSTRACT

This study aims to develop an AI chatbot that supports instrument practice in elementary music classes. Applying a design-and-development research methodology, the study first conducted a review of the relevant literature and a needs analysis, and then implemented an initial prototype. Subsequently, two rounds of usability evaluations were carried out with music education experts and elementary school students, and the findings were used to revise and refine the system into its final version. The results indicate that the chatbot developed in this study contributed to enhancing learners' self-directed learning abilities and learning motivation, and its potential as an AI-based personalized education and continuous learning support tool was confirmed. It is hoped that this study will encourage further development of AI-based learning support tools such as AI chatbots in music education, as well as subsequent research on lesson design and empirical investigations of their instructional effects.
